Luisão: We Have Respect For ManU

(Soccer365.com) - Benfica defender Luisão admits to having a great admiration for Tuesday Champions League foes Manchester United, but would just assume jump start their campaign with a victory.

The Portuguese giants have stumbled out of the league gate, but will look to take control of Group F by repeating last year’s Stadium of Light success against the Red Devils.

"We didn't start the league season well, but it's a UEFA Champions League match with a wonderful atmosphere," Luisão told reporters. "We hope to win and to move into first place in the group."

"We are going to be up against a great team," he added. "We had a lot of respect for Manchester United last season and we respect them just as much this time round."

"They have many top players and we have to watch them closely."

This should be a very good match & layed out almost like a chess game. Of course I would like to see Manchester United win this encounter but I'm also a realist & know it's easier said than done.Benfica will not just lay down but I'm sure Fergie has a good game plan. It would be nice to see Rooney come alive for this one as lately he has been given loads of stick for not scoring goals. He has all the skills & the drive to play at the highest level he just now needs to learn how to control his emotions & when that happens he will be very difficult to stop. Lets all hope it's a hard fought game by both teams but at the same time lets hope they play a clean game. Pay Piva!

(FYI)just in Manchester United won the game!

Cristiano Ronaldo was fantastic. The back 4 were solid, with the exception of a few lapses by Vidic. Heinze was a beast. Saha was money. It was great to see Alan Smith back on the pitch.
