It's not a question of myself bringing history or politics into this matter. It's rather bringing the truth out in the light. Indeed Italy has always produced many great players through the years but then they ruin the image of their soccer with clowns like Materazzi playing for them. Materazzi was nailed for being a poor liar which is the result of having a simple mind. What Zidane did was not right as far as I see it but then again I'm not Zidane so I can't see life or feel life the way he does. By the way ... France just beat Italy 3 to 1 so I guess it's safe to say they have more backbone then you give them credit for. Topoi Suka!

You know, I love how everyone is quick to forgive Zidane for what he did. He lost his head in the biggest match, his very last match. Zidane isn't exaclty a saint on the field either. Let's not put a double-standard because Zidane is a huge star. Was it wrong for Materazzi to say such things? YES. It still doesn't justify what Zidane did.

I'll bring up this incident, yet again. Euro 2004, Totti spits on a Danish player. No one asked if Totti was provoked. Totti even faced up to what he did. He said "The player was going for my ankles all game, but it still doesn't excuse what I did." Look, what they (Zidane & Materazzi) did was childish. Unfortunately, this is what everyone remembers from the final.

It was a poor played final & rather dull to watch. I think the Germany/Portugal game was much more interesting to watch. As for Zidane & Materazzi. Well, it just goes to show that people are different & react to different situations in different ways. Both Zidane & Materazzi had a history prior to Germany 2006 of getting into trouble in regards to soccer so for me to see all that crap going in the final between them was a disapointment to say the very least. I really think they both were in the wrong. My point is you are correct about Totti & Zidane also came clean from the start as he had no other choice. Simple trash talk, juvenile in nature it shows that Zidane is a hothead who overreacted to something not even worth it. No terrorist remark or talk of the sexual prowess of his wife,mother or sister. The only other thing FIFA did before this past world cup that was more idiotic was having Team USA rated 5th in the world! Go figure that one out!
