We’re Behind Donadoni – Albertini
(Soccer365.com) - Italian federation executive Demetrio Albertini says Azzurri boss Roberto Donadoni is under no pressure despite a slow start to his tenure.
The world champions have stumbled out of the Euroe2008 qualifying gate, with Wednesday France loss leaving them with one point through two matches.
"We chose him and we will defend him until the end," declared Albertini. "He has complete faith from all of us and he needs to be left to work in peace."
The former Italy star figures the late Serie A start has hurt the team in the early going.
"France ran at 200 kilometers an hour and in attack they were impressive," said Albertini. "We are really in a different physical state."

France deserved the victory, they were ahead of the preperation and it showed, but why would you call italy cheats? the calls in the game went in favor of France(the 1st goal had Gallas offside and there was apenalty on semioli) but regardless France played great.

Hey Duke, I guess people STILL haven't accepted that Italy won the world cup.

I guess so,Italy won and that's all there is to it.People forget that Italy lost the 1990 semifinal on penalties after giving up one goal in six games. In 1994 they lost to France on penalties again in the quarter finals, and let's not forget the 1994 final to brazil, so if we got lucky in 2006,again by allowing one goal(own goal )we deserved it.I guess being eliminated 3 times on penalties is remembered by those that suffered only.I hope donadoni finds his players and keeps it up,because the way he started is unacceptable.

What bugs me is this double standard that most fans (and FIFA) have for certain players. Maradona CLEARLY used his hand against England in 1986, but fans are quick to forget that. Grosso saw an opportunity and sold it well. We have the luxury of reply, in real time, it looked like a penatly.
