Lippi: I Would Choose Spain To Coach Again

(Goal.com) - "I like the football that's played there."

On a television programme that will air tonight on Italian TV, the ex Azzurri coach Marcello Lippi declared that he would like to return to the football world as a coach in Spain.

"I like the football they play there," he said. "It's a place I'd like to work at. I am intentionally unemployed right now.

"Before the World Cup I decided I would leave the national team: it was the right decision, my work was over after those two years."

The coach did receive some offers: "On July 10th all Italian teams were already settled. They called me from France, England, and Greece. I didn't even look at those proposals in detail, I wanted to wait."

Good choice, a team that needs 1 more component to win the World Cup. Coaching World Cup Champion Italy again would not prove that he's a great coach, taking a team with no marquee player would. Why do you think Phil went from Brazil to Portugal.

Wait, Spain has no marquee players? Does the name Fernando Torres ring a bell? Carlos Puyol, Iker Casillas. The problem Spain has had is they have TOO MANY marquee players that don't play well together.

I think what Lippi means is that he wants to coach a Spanih club team. The thought of him coaching the Spanish national team is intriguing and downright scary. Lippi is exactly what Spain needs--an italian tactical genius who knows how to unite his players. If he did take that job--WATCH OUT WORLD! Spain is coming.

Giova I think you are right,Lippi meant he wants to coach a club,Spain's liga is less stressful and more friendlier than serie A,he'll do well there.

Haha anythings better than coaching in italy haha!

I have to second Robbie's notion on that one.

That's because neither of you two morons (Robbie & Stan)can handle coaching in Italy, serie A is the hardest league in the world and ITALY is the world champion for the 4th time, live with it.

Tony P the reason Serie A is so difficult to play in is due to all the cheap fouling that goes on not to mention a player stands more of a chance to trip over some actor taking a dive than getting the ball along with all the match fixxing scams going on. Yes!Italy Serie A is something else!

Hey all

You know when the world cup was going on I would see all the post in the aol world cup chat & time & time again I would read all these ignorant post posted by people within the Italy camp knocking all the other nations in with a very sharp focus on France with all kinds of racial slurs but when others turned it on them these same people whine & cry. If these people had any kind of common sense they would keep quiet as when you push ..you get pushed back. The best part is Brazil is still rated the best team in the world so that game Italy had with France is for nothing!

All of you can say whatever you want, the fact is Italy is envied all over the world. All the people from every nation could only watch as Cannavaro hoisted the trophy (for the fourth time). So haha that Mr.Quaid. Is there not an Irish, Scottish or English forum you can find? Truth is you haven't the slightest clue about international football and it shows in what you type. HAHA

Giova,

This site is owned by EuroSport & the brothers that own it have an Irish last name. Hate to burst your bubble in telling you this :( This Robbie kid says some odd & funny things but that goes with being a kid & if you react to it well it shows you lack common sense. Still he's will within the rules of the forum so if you don't like it go find an Italy chat.

Look I'm not looking for beefs, but it kills me that instead of enjoying the beautiful game and accepting that the world champions are from ITALY, you hooligans have to do your song and dance and make asses of yourselves. Greggor it might be an Irish owned site, but these particular articles have to do with the World Champions. Not a country which has NEVER won the world cup, or a country that last won in 1966. Thats right! this particular article talks about the 4 time and current WORLD CHAMPIONS! and by the way, we are good at making pizza and clothes, cars, musicetc... I could go on and on, but I won't. Good day

Look it here. I am a pure spanish madrileno(madrid dude) who thinks that Spain, despite not really winning anything, is one of the cleanest and most excellantly playing teams in the world. When i watch them play, im watching football.Spain have an extremely bad streak and yes i do think they should get a better coach. Viva Espana!

Haha! yea dude! ole! spains gotta good team dude i agree but they just are not nasty & foul & take dives like italy or in bed with fifa like brazil spain should get cryuff to coach them & i bet they would be the best team in the world within 2 years but like i said the world cup has become a joke dude! haha! your team could win it and still not be rated number 1 just go ask the mafia, italy if you dont believe me haha!

Nobody respects Italy as they have been, & are involved in all kinds of dishonest antics. It's what they are known for & they were lucky to have made it as far as they did in this world cup considering how they played against weak teams like the American's & the Aussies. This is why they are rated 5th in the world by FIFA.

Spain reminds me of Real Madrid. They both have the best players but do really bad in major comps. Well, at least i can say that spain beat Italy and Portugal and win the Beach Soccer euro! haha

Hello. can someone tell me on what chanel and what time Spain vs argentina is on?

Miro, what country do you hail from? * * * *

It's much easeir to understand when you put it that way!
