Barcelona's Puyol Issues Thank-You Letter
Barcelona captain Carles Puyol thanked people for their supporter after learning of his father's death last week.
Puyol's father, Josep Puyol, died in a work-related accident last Friday at the age of 65. Puyol missed Barcelona's Liga match against Deportivo over the weekend as a result of what he calls the "worst moment" of his life.
On Tuesday, the Spanish international published a letter of thanks for all of the support he and his family have received:
"In the worst moment of my life, the show of affection and respect that my family and I have received has helped us to fill the gap that such an irreparable loss has left us. Thank you to everyone for making us feel that there are things in life that make it easier to carry on.
"I will never forget all the support that I have received in recent days and will always be grateful to you all.
"On behalf of the Puyol Saforcada family, I would like to say a big thank you to everyone."
