Bocanegra Enjoying New Role

(Soccer365.com) - Fulham defender-turned-midfielder Carlos Bocanegra says he is having fun patrolling an unfamiliar position for manager Chris Coleman.

Injuries forced the coach to push the American Abroad into defensive midfield, and the former Chicago Fire star is showing well.

"I played there when I was quite a bit younger, but never at a high level like the Premiership," Bocanegra told the club website. "I am enjoying it."

"The toughest thing about the position has been receiving the ball with my back to goal, but I think I am adapting to the position with each game," he noted. "It’s a challenge, but one I am really relishing."
