(Soccer365.com) - Despite a calamitous start to the 2006/07 campaign, Hamburg sporting director Dietmar Beiersdorfer has reiterated that coach Thomas Doll is not on the chopping block.
The Rothosen have been dumped out of Europe and the German Cup, while floundering near the bottom of the Bundesliga table after 11 games.
"I don't believe there is a better trainer for us," Beiersdorfer insisted after sitting down with Doll in the wake of a 2-0 loss at Stuttgart on Tuesday.
"All we talked about was the need to keep going and that we would eventually be rewarded."
