Reina Flattered By Valencia Interest
(Goal.com) - Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina admits he is flattered by reported interest from Valencia.
Although Ches number one Santiago Canizares recently agreed a fresh two-year deal with the club, Valencia are keen to find a long-term replacement for the 36-year-old.
Valencia director of sport Amedeo Carboni has reportedly contacted Reina’s agent to check on the player’s status.
"The interest of Valencia is flattering to me," Reina told AS.
"Though at this moment I want to be focused on helping Liverpool return to our best form, which is most important.
"We'll see what happens in the future."
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez would surely be reluctant to allow his fellow countryman to leave despite his indifferent form this season.
However, Reina made his name with Valencia’s rivals Villarreal and may not be adverse to a move back to Spain.
