Ronaldo Faces Another Month Out
(Goal.com) - Ronaldo has been ruled out for at least a month after tests showed that he has strained ligaments in his knee during the midweek encounter with Écija.
The Brazilian striker netted his first goal in 215 days for Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey victory on Wednesday, but that has been overshadowed by another injury setback.
After struggling to recover from a knee injury since the World Cup Finals, Ronaldo's return to action was delayed by Fabio Capello as the Italian coach wanted to ensure that he was fuly fit.
His goal in the cup encounter won many plaudits and his partnership with Ruud Van Nistelrooy looked to finally be working.
The last time that the former Barça and Inter striker scored for Madrid was on April 8 in the 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad in the Santiago Bernabéu.
Now though, Ronaldo faces at least another four weeks on the sidelines and doctors have warned that if the latest injury fails to improve then he could well face more surgery.
