Ronaldo: I’m At A Capello Loss

(Soccer365.com) - Real Madrid strike ace Ronaldo has admitted he doesn’t know quite how to win the starting favor from coach Fabio Capello.

The Brazil star is sitting behind Ruud van Nistelrooy, despite having rounded into shape.

"I don't know what the criteria are to win a place in the starting line-up," Ronaldo told Spanish paper ABC. "The worst thing about not playing is not having the confidence of the coach and not knowing how to win it back."

"Capello doesn't have faith with me at the moment, if he did he would have played me more."

Nevertheless, he says he is not heading into retirement anytime soon.

"I expect to complete my contract here and then to have two years more in Brazil or the United States," stated Ronaldo. "I will retire at 35."

"I am a fighter and this is the moment to do battle," he declared. "It is a small problem compared to others."

If I were Ronaldo I would keep quiet. Afterall he's making millions for riding the bench. I'm sure there are tons of people all over the world that would be more than happy to make so much money for doing next to nothing.

Seems to be a theme of yours. You don't think that a national team is entitled to or should have any aspirations to take steps to improve, and you apparently think a world class player like Ronaldo should be content to not even play.

I'm sure you're right that many people would be happy to make money for doing nothing, but people with self respect are not content to just make money.

I'm with you in not wanting to hear millionaires whine about it, but at least he admitted it is a small problem compared to most, and a player like Ronaldo or any other true professional with a love for the game would never be content to just sit on the bench. He is getting older, but he would still start at most clubs.

This story is about Ronaldo & it does not mention anything about any national team in particular. If you read my post here my comment is based on the story about Ronaldo & not anything else. Don't get your panties in such a knot!

I think ronaldo stil the best player in the world and he shoudent be sitting in the pinsch

Ronaldo should shut up and trust the Italian mastermind of a coach. Capello is making a point. He is taking these overpaid, galactico, egotistical, cry baby players and saying to them; if you don't buy into my system and play for the team--you will sit and fetch water for the players that will. No matter if your name is Cassano, Ronaldo or Beckham. Their will be some growing pains the first little while, which has been evident, but give him another month and Real Madrid will be almost unbeatable. Mark my words and remember what I said! You go Capello!

DId Ronnie just say he may come to the US?!...Why?

If Ronie did say that it's a good place for him to come when you consider he's past hsi prime & over the hill.

I think Ronaldo just needs to slow down look at his skill compared to the other players of Real Madrid and relize he isn't twenty-years old any more.

i think ronaldo can still play the game ,just need to trane more hard ,and he will do it
