Schaars: Feyenoord Have Fallen

(Soccer365.com) - AZ Alkmaar midfield general Stijn Schaars has opined that their weekend match-up with Feyenoord is no longer a prime Eredivisie contest because the Rotterdammers have slipped in recent years.

Despite a four-game winning streak, Feyenoord are already six points behind third place AZ after 12 games.

"There is not the same status there anymore," said Schaars, providing supple bulletin board material for Erwin Koeman’s side. "Feyenoord are now below the top clubs."

"I think they will even be surprised when they come up against us."
