Eskandarian: Trade Blindsided Me
(Soccer365.com) - Fresh Toronto FC catch Alecko Eskandarian says he was not ready to be shipped away by D.C. United just prior to Christmas and believes the club could have at least given him some notice.
"It was definitely a surprise, but you could see what direction things were going with the team," he told the Washington Post.
"It's a little disappointing the way they handled it," admitted Eskandarian. "No one contacted me, it was a bit unprofessional."
The striker has spent all four of his MLS seasons in the capital, scoring 24 times in 88 appearances, including four goals in four games on the way to the 2004 title.
