Hughes Hails Heroic Friedel
(Soccer365.com) - Fresh off a 1-0 win over nearby rivals Liverpool, Blackburn manager Mark Hughes thanked keeper Brad Friedel for coming up big on a bum leg.
The American Abroad made a good low save on Peter Crouch in the first half, then preserved the victory with a late dazzler on Xabi Alonso’s drive.
"He got a bang on his leg and was struggling for maybe a good 20 minutes," Hughes told the club website.
"But he pulled off one great save down to his left and he came for balls when he had to and helped us immensely."

Don't expect any less from Brad.
USA soccer lost a great one when he
retired.
A great goalkeeper and an even better
leader (which was obviously missing during
our last World Cup).

Somehow the States provide great keepers.

You said it. Did you see the game against Sheff. United a couple months back? He saved 2 PKs and was the reason Blackburn held on for the tie. He's still the man.
