Vučinić Hopeful Surgery Is Cure

(Soccer365.com) - AS Roma strike starlet Mirko Vucininc is crossing his fingers that a weekend knee operation will finally allow him to the make his name at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Serbia & Montenegro forward has struggled for fitness since arriving from Lecce this past summer.

“The operation went well,” reported Vučinić to Sky Italia.

“It is a liberation for me because when I was playing I felt pain.”

Roma boss Luciano Spalletti hopes to have Vučinić back in the new year, but still seems intent on loaning out Valencia striker Francesco Tavano.
