Capello Does Ronaldo And Becks U-Turn

(Goal.com) - Fabio Capello has opened the door for David Beckham to play against for Real Madrid and hinted that he wants Ronaldo to stay at the club.

The Italian coach was quoted as saying that the Beckham would not play for the Spanish giants again after agreeing to join LA Galaxy without first informing Madrid.

President Ramón Calderón made his disappointment public, for which he has since apologised, while sporting director Predrag Mijatovic stood behind the decision.

After the incredible publicitity that the move generated, Capello now appears to have made a U-turn and looks set to consider Beckham in the future.

"You cannot discard anything," he stated, when asked whether the Hollywood-bound superstar would play again before the end of the season.

"At the moment this is the line we have decided to follow but you have to be flexible.

"He is a great professional and always shows enthusiasm in training. Ideas can be changed, but it will depend on both the player and the coach."

With rumours that AC Milan want to take Ronaldo on a free transfer, Capello moved to deny that he wants the Brazilian to leave during the winter transfer window.

The Italian club have had their offer rebuffed by Madrid, but stories continue to surface that a buyer is still being sought.

"I still see Ronaldo wearing the Madrid shirt," Capello said. "The players train here every day and Ronaldo is training after a problem. He is a Real Madrid player."

I think Capello & Real Madrid should stick to their guns on this topic! Players' regardless who they are & where they come from that play at the top level make an awful lot of money. They are expected to produce for their clubs. If they don't produce they they should be on the bench it's as simple as that. I have nothing against Beckham or Ronaldo but for both of them their forms' have been off for sometime now in particular Beckham. Real Madrid hired Capello to manage & coach the team because he's a top flight manager. They did not hire him to cater to players ego's That being said so far, so good with Capello as he's doing the right things. He can't play the games for the players, only the players can do that regardless of who they are they have to produce results & Capello has the right to field a team he feels will get the best results.

Real Madrid have come out of this situation looking like a bunch of classless, arrogant jerks. First, Mijatovic comes out and says that they will not resign Beckham. Then, they're pissed of because he signed a huge deal. Then Capello says he will never play for Madrid again and then backed off. Here's what it comes down to. Calderon brought in Capello to put together a team that could compete with Barcelona. Capello brought in Cannavarro, Emerson, Ruud. The only one of those three that has panned out is Ruud and they still can't compete with Barcelona. Calderon can't blame Capello, he hired him. So, they point the finger at the 2 guys who have played the least. Say what you want about Beckham, he has always conducted himself as a professional. Hell, even Raul, Mr. Real Madrid, has come to Beckham's defense.

I reluctantly agree with ghost rider. It is true, they are playing the blame game and Ruud is the only one that panned out. Although I do have to say that Capello is the perfect person for the Real job. He must show the team that it doesn't matter who you are, if you don't buy into the system you will not play. Ronaldo and Becks included. Capello is a general and he wants soldiers. He doesn't want to babysit superstars egos. He's bringing them all back down to earth and thats exactly what this team full of galacticos needs.

Capello needs more time. I feel that Real will return to being the best team in spain as early as next season.

I think Ronaldo is the best player in the world, maybe he can't play now, but he still #1 soccer player.I don't want to talk about Backhem.I don't like him.But again remember 2002 Brazil 2 Germen 0
