Cocu Reveals MLS Interest
(Soccer365.com) - PSV Eindhoven midfield general Philip Cocu will surely perk up ears across the Atlantic after admitting that MLS was one of three possible destinations he’d consider at season’s end.
The Farmers have offered an extension, but the veteran is keeping all options open.
“An MLS adventure like David Beckham? I have it in the back of my mind that a period abroad would be enriching,” Cocu told Voetbal International. “But I am still hungry here.”
“As long as I can play at the top level, it would be a sin to play in MLS, Saudi Arabia or Japan.”
“If PSV win the Champions League, perhaps you lose that hunger,” Cocu explained.
“I was not happy with the departures of Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Andre Ooijer this summer – who will leave at the end of this season?”
“You don’t get a guarantee that everything runs smoothly with new players ever year,” noted Cocu, currently aiming for a third straight Eredivisie crown.
“At this moment, there is no problem with continuing physically.”
“If the club cannot wait until July, I understand,” he asserted. “Around April, I will sit with the coach.”

At least we now have some quality players wanting to come over at the end of their game. Cocu is still a good player, in MLS terms, he's a great player. He's not coming over to ride on his Hollywood fame like others and is not a total was of space like Djorkief (can't spell his name because I just don't care enough). Bring Rivaldo over from Greece as well! If we're going to go broke as a league, might as well do with quality players.

Don't worry, MLS won't go broke until someone tries to sign Ronaldo. THEN they'll go broke. It was rumored during the World Cup that the Red Bulls tried to sign him for 120 MILLION DOLLARS!!! Isn't that more money than the MLS has combined?

First of all, Ronaldo just signed with Milan, so he's not coming for a while. The thing you guys are forgetting is that the teams will now have sponsors on the front of their kits the revenues of which the clubs will keep. This will keep a steady flow of money into the clubs.
