Conrad Seeing Camp Differently
(Soccer365.com) - U.S. defender Jimmy Conrad was one of the newbies during the run-up to World Cup 2006, but he now finds himself among the senior citizens in Bob Bradley’s first National Team camp.
The Kansas City Wizards ace made two appearances in Germany, and the group gathered to prepare for a January 20th friendly with Denmark is largely comprised of MLS youngsters.
“This year, I’m the second-oldest field player, so that alone gives me that veteran feeling, just being someone who’s been around,” Conrad told the Kansas City Star.
“This is obviously the first camp before the next World Cup cycle, so Bob’s going to want to see a lot of new guys, a lot of young guys and give them their chance.”
“It’s going to be a fun process to see which guys prove they can play at this level and which guys can’t,” noted Conrad. “Hopefully, they can push me along the way to make me better.”
