Edu Excited To Live His Dream

(Soccer365.com) - Toronto FC rookie sensation Maurice Edu is proud to join the MLS expansion side after being selected #1 in the SuperDraft and eager to get his career underway.

"Soccer's what I've always wanted to do," the midfielder told the Toronto Star. "I got into it at a very young age and just stuck with it."

The former University of Maryland star admitted he is attracted to the thought of playing in Europe, but wishes to help his home league prosper first.

"I used that to kind of motivate myself with the dream of maybe getting over there," he told reporters. "But I do still have that belief and that hope that soccer will continue to grow in the U.S. and over here as well."
