Kirk Wants U20 WC Berth Settled
(Soccer365.com) - U.S. Under-20 ace Quavas Kirk has declared that the team want to finish the job of qualifying for this summer’s FIFA U-20 World Cup early by defeating familiar foe Guatemala.
The teams have met in November, with the Americans taking a 2-1 decision.
“We have a ton of motivation to come out and get the win tomorrow,” Kirk told USSoccer.com. “We want to win the third game and win the whole tournament, but we know if we can get the victory against Guatemala we’ll be in the World Cup.”
“That’s why we’re here, so we’re going to do everything we can tomorrow to accomplish that goal.”
“Everyone looks good,” reports the Los Angeles starlet. “I think we got some of our kinks out in the Haiti game (a tournament opening 4-1 rout) and we’ll be hopefully able to connect a lot better in this game.”
“We were able to get over our nervousness in the first game and now we can just concentrate on the game at hand.”
