Mancini Confirms Figo Stay
(Goal.com) - The Portuguese midfielder was expected to go end his career in Saudi Arabia and play for Al Ittihad in a lucrative deal.
Inter are currently in Bahrain for a mini-training camp and on their arrival Roberto Mancini wanted to clear things out with regards to the Luis Figo situation.
According to reports, the 34-year-old player was very close to join Al Ittihad, but latest developments indicate that Figo will see the rest of his contract with Inter.
To replace Figo, Inter were rumoured to be after Real Madrid's David Beckham, which was also denied by the Inter coach.
"Figo will remain in Milan, just like Beckham is a player of Real Madrid and for respect, I don't ever talk about players of other clubs."
Inter are after another striker for this January transfer market, with Cagliari’s Suazo being on top of their list. For the future, the main targets of the Nerazzurri are Messi and Buffon.
