Mancini: I Would Take Cassano
(Goal.com) - "But only in June because getting him in January with the season already ongoing is difficult."
Inter coach Roberto Mancini surprisingly opened a spiral of light to the possibility of signing Antonio Cassano in the near future: "I would take Cassano: he has extraordinary technical qualities, even though I understand that it's difficult to put him in the team right now." Mancini added that "getting a player as good as him only brings advantages. His return would do good for all of Italian football." When asked about another "ex-Italian" player, one having a torrid time at the moment, he answered: "Shevchenko? I would take him as well!".
After this brief but surprising interlude on the transfer market, Mancini came back on his players, in particular Figo and Adriano: "With Figo we didn't need to clear anything up. As for Adriano, I'm sure that he will continue working as well as he did the past days, so he can come back better than before."
Vacation time is over now for Inter: tomorrow it's already time for the Coppa Italia quarter finals. And "Mancio" will not want to see his side distracted and does not want to underestimate Empoli, considering the match "very important because we care about this competition and it's also a useful game in view of the game against Torino in the league. When you come back from vacation it's never easy, and this Coppa Italia game will help us freshen up our legs."
