Onyewu Eyes Permanent Toon Deal
(Soccer365.com) - Fresh Newcastle loan catch Oguchi Onyewu says he is aiming to earn a full transfer from Standard Liège with his play.
"I am not here just for the short term," he told reporters at his Tuesday presentation. "I am definitely here for the long term and to make something special happen."
"I have been following Newcastle for quite some time and saw they were struggling in terms of results, and thought maybe this could possibly be in my future."
Concluded the U.S. backline star: "My work ethic is very high and I just want to contribute something positive to the team."

A player that wants to be the best they can be has to go to Europe to do that. Only playing with and against the top competition will make a player better. Currently, MLS doesn't provide that competition.
