U.S. WNT Claim Four Nations Title

(Soccer365.com) - The United States women’s national team claimed their fifth Four Nations title with a convincing 2-0 win over China in the final group stage match on Tuesday.

Lori Chalupny and Natasha Kai each found the back of the net on opposite sides of halftime while the defense held the host nation scoreless, limiting the chances of their top two scoring threats, Han Duan and Ma Xiaoxu.

''Today we felt like we could come out and just go after China,'' American coach Greg Ryan was quoted to the AP. ''We pressured them in their half. It's great to win the tournament on this note. We can take a lot of confidence from it.''

With the win Ryan extends the team’s unbeaten streak under his guidance to 34 and helped the coach evaluate some of the young talent available for this summer’s World Cup.
