Friedel Applauds Rovers Defense
(Soccer365.com) - Blackburn keeper Brad Friedel came up with a pair of big stops late, but he says the credit for their scoreless FA Cup draw at Arsenal goes to the players in front of him.
The American Abroad put up a stone wall on Thierry Henry and Justin Hoyte in the waning moments to force an Ewood Park rematch.
"The last time we came here, we (gave up) six," recalled Friedel. "We wanted to impose ourselves defensively."
"We were not at our best against Leverkusen (a midwekk UEFA Cup loss) and I was really pleased to see the lads play like that today."
"It wasn't true Blackburn Rovers," he said. "But we had to tighten up at the back and we did that today."

Did you see those stops against Arsenal? Reminded me of his play in the 2002 WorldCup when he helped lead the US to the quarterfinals. Friedel is still a top quality keeper.

Your loss Sam, it was a good game. Friedel was fantastic and came up huge in that FA cup tie for Blackburn. If you doubt is worth, go to Barcay's fantasy prem league, and check out the keeper rankings. Friedel is in the top 5.

What I cant understand is why the national team picked that worthless blob of blubber bald crome dome Keller over Friedel for the past world cup in Germany. Then again they also took that loser Donovan to Germany as well so maybe that explains it. Thats the problem with the USSF it's infected with politics & they seem to pick the wrong players for the squad. It's no wonder then that they always seem to lose more than they win when it comes to the world cup.

Friedel retired from international competition after the 2002 Cup. And I don't think you can blame Keller for the US play in Germany...if it wasn't for him, it could have been much worse. If the US does one thing right, it's producing top quality bald keepers...Friedel, Keller, Tim Howard.

The lowest price I can find at an authorized retailer is 20% off, plus tax.Amazon's customer service issued me a price adjustment, when the price dropped some $120 from the date I ordered the watch. (Although Amazon has officially terminated the price adjustment policy last year.)The watch looks genuine to me. The craftsmanship is nice.
