Kaká Nervous To Face Scolari
(Soccer365.com) - Brazil attack wizard Kaká admits it will be pretty strange to oppose Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, who gave him his Samba King start.
The teams - an ocean apart, but rivals nonetheless - will face off in a friendly on Wednesday.
“For me, it’s always an important achievement to be called up to the Seleção, but this game will be special,” conceded Kaká.
“We’re just starting a New Year so it’s important to start off on the right foot, but also because it’ll be the first time that I play against Felipão, who always trusted my football and helped me along to where I am now.”
“It’s now five years that I’ve been playing for Brazil and Scolari was the person who bet on my game when I was still at São Paulo,” he recalled. “It’s going to feel a little weird playing against him, but I’m looking forward to it immensely.”

for all the portuguese fans out there:
I suggest you all sign a petition to get Scolari removed as the coach. He's a good coach but his taking Portugal to ecstacy (be it wc or euro)will not happen. What Portugal needs is Jose Mourinho. A guy they would have to pry from Chelsea. I think the 2002 Brazil team would have wone with me behind the bench. He is over-rated, but his accomplishments with Portugal cannot be denied. He has taken them to the last step but wasn't able to conquer. The Golden Generation team of Portugal should have a championship trophy to there name. It was not meant to be with Scolari. Things could change with a tactical, homegrown genius such as Jose.

Was it just me or has Portugal looked the best it has in a long time. Scolari may be overrated, but the golden generation of Portugal won what? Oh yeah I remember nothing...New players + pretty good coach = success. At least Portugal is back on the soccer map again.

Scolari's a great coach and done great things for the NT. I don't know the age of the writers on this blog, but can I suggest that you all grow up. Mourinho is not going to bring a coveted trophy on his own doing. The team desperately needs a STRIKER. We have not had one since Eusebio and Pauleta never did the job. If it means going out and naturalizing someone, than do it. It's the final piece of the puzzle. A major piece, considering Djalo, VazTe, silvestra,Almeida, and Gomes are all useless. The best prospect is Djalo and that ain't good my friends. We will never win unless we get alot more balls in the net. It is called FINISHING the play kids. That is what was missing in Euro and the last world cup. Don't put that on Scolari's shoulders. He does the best with what he has.

Oh yeah, giova
Forza Materazzi's dirty mouth and Fabio Grsso's theatrics is what I believed you wanted to say and not ITALIA
:)

Manolo you know nothing about the portuguese team because if you did you would know that they have plenty of firepower up front. If you recall there is a striker who just beat Eusebios record for most goals by a Portuguese player before the last world cup--that's right Pauletta. Another thing you don't want to get into country debate with me because if you compare Portugals and Italys international records you will see there is nothing to debate. Why didn't Scolari play Nuno Gomes more? Manolo, please.
