Mastroeni Still Proving Himself
(Soccer365.com) - Some might feel U.S. midfielder Pablo Mastroeni is a lock for a place in Bob Bradley’s squad, but the veteran of two World Cups bristles at the suggestion.
Despite his experience, the Colorado Rapid ace believes he should work toward goals as if he were a fresh-faced youngster battling for his first cap.
"There's a misconception to that term," he told the Arizona Register ahead of Wednesday night’s friendly with Mexico.
"I think a lot of guys that feel like a veteran start behaving like a veteran and pretty soon get washed up by the young guys," asserted Mastroeni.
"I still have to prove myself."
