Milan To Opt For Abbiati

(Goal.com) - The Rossoneri's strategy for the future seems clear: Buffon is too expensive...

With four keepers currently on the roster (Dida, Kalac, Storari, Fiori, although the hierarchy was never quite clear), but none of them sure of still being at the club next season, Milan are looking for new solutions for the goalkeeping position. The club are seriously thinking about calling back Abbiati who was loaned out to Torino last summer. As they await Torino president Cairo's decision, Milan have already made it clear to Abbiati they would gladly have him back.

The goalkeeper, on his part, has already shown a certain approval for a move back to San Siro. He would also be willing to compete with other goalkeepers for the number one position. However it seems that Dida and Kalac are preparing to depart from the club. Storari would not have any problems to remain second choice. By opting for Abbiati Milan would avoid the more costly and difficult operation of bringing Buffon to the club. The 30-35 million euros necessary to get the keeper would then be utilized to try and buy Ronaldinho.
