Rijkaard A Great Coach - Gio
(Goal.com) - In the face of much speculation about Rijkaard's future, Giovanni van Bronckhorst has come out with unequivocal praise for his compatriot.
"He's a coach who has won it all as a player and for me, is one of the best coaches," said the left-back about Rijkaard.
The Dutch international denied vehemently claims that the manager had lost authority over the course of the week, and also expressed hope that he would be "staying on for many years."
Despite suggestions that Eto'o could stay behind and focus on his fitness, Van Bronkhorst felt that the Cameroon international was ready for action against Valencia: "I see Samu in good shape."
He then went on to speak about Sunday's opponents, Valencia, who, he admitted "could win the league."
"However, we want to continue as league leaders, and to leave Valencia trailing by 10 points [which they will should they win at the Mestalla]," he insisted.
Finally he spoke about Zambrotta being handed starts on the left, ahead of him and Sylvinho. He revealed he had discussed the issue with Rijkaard, and that the coach had explained that he wanted to give Zamrotta some continuity in defence.
He also played down suggestions that he could play in midfield, as he did during the practice game on Wednesday: "I've only played two or three times in this position."

Eto has never struck me as being very bright. He has that (lights are on but nobody's home) look on his face. Think it's safe to say if he was not playing soccer that he could be found in medical school or something that requires the use of one's brain.

If Eto'o wasn't playing soccer he would be working for a bowl of rice a day. This is why I say his actions were unacceptable. Regardless, Rijkaard is a good coach but he does have maybe the best team in the world playing for him. This makes his job a little easier.

yusupha I dont think anybody cares if you agree with them or not. In ten years time nobody will know or care who Eto is. He's signed to one of the best clubs in the world & he's acting like a spoiled child. Any players can be replaced at any club or natioanl team, any time! If he had a brain he would stay quiet & wait his turn. He's good but very dumb at the same time. He's not great thats for sure. There are many players for Barca that are much better than he is. I'm glad Buck Toothed Ronnie called him out as Eto's ego needs to be put in check.
