Beckham: Always Available For England
(Goal.com) - David Beckham has declared that he would ‘walk back’ from the United States in order to play for England.
The former national team captain, who will join LA Galaxy in the summer, has been dropped from the squad by coach Steve McClaren.
"I would walk back from the United States to play for England again," said Beckham, currently out of action with a knee injury.
"I am sure if I am doing well over there, it will not go unnoticed.
"I will always be available to play for my country if I am needed. I am a fit person and a fit player.
"Getting a recall is not my decision is it?
"If it does happen, then amazing. But, if it doesn't, then I am honoured to have played the games I have played, and to have captained my country so many times."
Beckham also told Sport magazine that he would not see his time at Real Madrid as a failure if he goes a fourth straight season without winning a trophy.
"We might still win something this season, and it would be amazing to go out on a high," he said.
"But if that is not the case I won't look back and think of my time at the club as being anything other than successful.
"I have spent four years at one of the biggest clubs in the world, and I have been able to play with so many great players, Zinedine Zidane to name but one.
"Just to be on the same pitch as Zidane was an absolute honour for me. I have had an incredible time and will have no regrets at all."
Beckham also spoke of the options he had before deciding to move to the US.
He added: "I don't really want to name the clubs I spoke to, because it wasn't only in England - there were two big clubs in Italy, and one big club in France as well, and they were all very tempting.
"But I have always said that I am a Manchester United fan - that is how I was brought up, and that is how I will always be.
"I feel so passionate for United, even now, that it would have been virtually impossible for me to play for another English team.
"They are my team and I don't think I could have brought myself to play against them for anyone."

Here he goes again! Hooking himself to the media to get them to lean on Engalnd's national team program to force them to add himself back into the squad. Beckham makes me sick. He's a pitiful poor excuse for a man. He's simply not good enough to play for England any longer & it makes me want to puke how the press & media kiss up to this false player, this false media hyped icon, this lowlife down in the gutter parasite. Anybody that actually buys a ticket to see this pool of bile play in the MLS is buying into the idiotic hype machine the MLS has created. In other words ...You will be paying for this loser's lifestyle. It's something to think about people.

I'm so sick of hearing about Beckham. It's as if everywhere you turn somebody is mentioning his ugly name. I keep on hoping all along I'm having an extended bad dream & that I'll wake up & all this will just have been an illusion. I can't understand why this site keeps on posting stories about Beckham as nobody can stand him.

They should change the title of this story from ... Beckham: Always available for England, to ... Beckham: I'll always go run & cry to the media when I don't get my way!

He will always be the worst player ever to touch a professional soccer jersey.

I am tired of Bechham excuses.I don't think that America should have given him all that money to come play for them.they should have given the money to Ronaldinho if they really wanted to win some games against porfessionals teams.beckham simply can not play.he's not that good.all he does is freekick & that's not enough.

Why can't Beckahm face the facts! The England national team program doesn't want him. He's not good enough to play for England. The fact that he's going to America is good for Europe as a whole as they no longer have to deal with this TinkerBell Elf! It's also good for England's national team as he being so far away gives them even a better excuse not to have him. He's doing what he's always done which is use the press, cry to the media to put pressure on those who he feels won't give him what he want's. He's acting like a spoiled child & not like a man. I hope everything he's doing & also his move to America blows up in his face.

I used to like Beckham now I realize he is a cry baby that always goes behind his teams back to get his way. I am glad he doesn't work at like McDonalds because he would probably like poison your food to get all of your money then go "Mu Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha". Also he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed he supposedely one day was helping his Kindergarten son with his math homework and he said it was to hard.

Yeah old Beckham reminds of of an old woman. Just crying all the time. The sqeaky wheel always get's the most oil. I don't think theres too many players' in the MLS very happy about Beckham coming over here. I talk to somebody I know that works for the Los Angeles team & he informed me the majority of the players are very unhappy about Beckham coming over for so much money. Can't say I blame them. I think Beckham will end up getting roughed up in games & if so, that's a good thing! They need to make him pay his dues & earn his money! Down with the poser David Beckham!

All I can say is anyone that actually thinks Beckham is a soccer player knows nothing about the sport at all.

I don't know what all of you are talking about especially carlsberg. I have said it before and ill say it again, the man has won everything there is to win in the epl, not to mention a champions league. So yeah he might be past his prime, and yeah he might talk to the press a little to much but to say he is good for nothing (when actually he was the best player on a team of underachieving stars this summer for England) when he has accomplished so much is just plain crazy. Soccer in America needs an accomplished player like him to help move it along.

Red you'v missed the boat Son! Beckham has been warming the bench in Madrid for well over two years now. He was punted from the English national team like a fermented apple this past Summer & he was also sent packing from ManU. He hooks himself to the media to get his way & has no shame & does not act like a man. He's not the soccer hero you paint him out to be. In reality he's a European outcast & worse he's English who are just about as unpopular as Americans
Posted by: Carlsberg | March 23, 2007 03:21 AM
Red why do you think Beckham went to the press to say he's always available for England? I'll tell you why! He's using the same childish ploy he used in Madrid & the same ploy he tried in vain to use against Sir Alex at ManU. He want's the press & media to lean on England's FA who in turn will lean on the national team manager to force them to play him. He should just come to terms with the fact his time in England's national team is over. He should bow out with grace & class & not like the ugly lower class uneducated English Londoner that he is. Be a man Beckham! Go to America & disapear!
