Chivas Chief Fans L.A. Rivalry
(Soccer365.com) - Chivas USA supremo Antonio Cue has declared that the team don’t need to do anything in particular to compete for local favor with cross-town rivals and David Beckham capturers Los Angeles Galaxy.
"I hate them on the field, but they're very smart people, so they must be doing something right," he told the L.A. Times. "I wouldn't say they're losing Los Angeles because of Beckham, I think Beckham is a great asset."
"I think they're losing Los Angeles because Chivas came here and is doing what people wanted done - now there's another team providing the passion that the fans like."
Cue also boasted that his team features players from eight countries, while the Galaxy no longer have any Hispanic players.
"We'll continue to be the immigrant team of this nation," he asserted before taking a shot at another Galaxy shirt change. "Our strategy goes back 100 years, it's about tradition."
"The uniform doesn't change, the colors are there forever."
