Really ?????? Ya don't Say !!!!!! Deco is another Graduate of the Portugal school of soccer diving. He's a damm good player but I lost loads of respect for their national team at this past world cup. They (Deco included) were diving left & right in every match they had. Italy would be a good place for this guy. He would fit right in.

Did you see the amount they say this guy is worth? At his old age? It's almost as absurd as the situation with David (Bench warmer) Beckham.

I agree spivey. Deco was a great player in my mind before the world cup but he overshadowed that with all the diving and complaining to the referees during it.

John it's not really a sport any longer. It's a global, corperate, money making business that's the reality of it now. That's why we saw all the match fixxing scandals in Italy last year. Diving in the world cup non- stop by teams' like Portugal & Italy to be able to advance. Also players' & managers' moving on & off clubs when the twice a year transfer window pop's up. Players' are no longer even content to play for a famous club any longer. Everybodys' looking for a quick fix to make fast profit's for a club. It's all about the money now. Money comes before the sport.

Now there's talk that Manchester United is making a bid for Deco. Something like 15 million Euro's. Could you imagine if that actually happened? Deco with Ronaldo at United! He would fill in that gap Larrson made when he left & it would give United much more options as far as fire power goes up front. I think it would be a good move for Deco & United.

Spivey, good comment! Deco might be getting on in years a bit but I figure he has a few good seasons' of play left in him whereever he end's up. It sure would be a better option for him than ending up in Italy as that league sad to say as so many problems at the moment. My only concern would be how he would get on with Sir Alex? Unlike, say a club like Madrid or Barca where the owners' get in the way of the managers' at United Sir Alex really run's the show 100%. It doesn't really matter who you are when you play for United you play the way Sir Alex want's you to play period! If you look at the history of United since Sir Alex as been in charge any player that didn't go with the program has been shipped off just like that so Deco being a big name high profile player for so long I wonder if he could work within United's system? Guess we will have to wait & see what happens!

I think United would be a much better move for Deco than ending up with some club in Italy. The league there is too unstable & the overall quality of play has gone down the tubes these past few years with all the scandals there as the players' have suffered for it & a lot of good players' took the smart route & left. Deco is as you guys' said getting on a little in age but he still has world class skills so the only game in town is the glory of the Premiership as it's the best league in the world at the moment to play club soccer. Everything else is just second class.

Yeah I know I think the Premiership is the right ticket for Deco if he decides to leave Barca. A friend of mine has lived in Italy for the past three years & he's a soccer fanatic. He's been up & down that country & he told me most games', even in serie A are played to half empty stadiums. I even read about that myself so I know what my friend's been telling me is spot on. If Deco get's the chance he should end his career in the Premiership. It really is the best league in the world right now.

dr nyc I see your in here bothering people again. Ok I'll do spelling correction for you. When you refer to England it's not there, but rather their. To counter the information Diego's friend gave him it's not bot? is bot even an actual word? but rather but. To correct you diego & his friend are corect. Most of the games in Italy are played to half empty stadiums & in no way does Italy have the third best league in the world. The top three at this moment are based on money made at the gates & the actual crowd numbers & they are as follows by country ... England, Spain, & believe it or not ...Germany. These are the strongest & richest leagues in Europe. After that it's a toss up between France & Italy as to who is fourth in ranking. As for what you said about the way England played on Saturday I agree with you. England played poor but even playing poor I think any player on their national team which includes the bench warmers' & injured one's can play much better than you could ever hope to, but then again they are not stuck inside glued to the tv 247 now are they!

Dr nyc have you ever been to a game in Italy or England? I have, in both countries. Years back I went to a derby match in Italy & the venue was half empty. My friend lives there now & told me things have not changed but only become worse. I live in England now & I can tell you no place on earth compares to the game in England. Even fourth division games sell out here every single week from one end of the country to the other. Did you ever stop to think that might be the reason so many teams in the Premiership have built, or in the process of building larger stadiums? The only other place that comes somewhat close to the Premiership in popularity, large crowds, & money made at the gates is La Liga in Spain & then the league in Germany but Italy! No way! You can say & think what you want about England & English Soccer but still some of the best players' in the world come from England. Stop with your hating & unloading your frustrations on people that are fan's of English soccer.

I'm talking about English players' in general & the Premiership. The Premiership is at the moment in a very healthy state & the best league in the world for a professional to play in. You play to sold out crowds every week. The players' are paid much better compared to what they would get anywhere else in Europe. I'm not English so I'm not too concerned about how their national team does & I'm not surprised about their result this past Saturday. What about your team Italy? What's their excuse to be in third place in their group for Euro/ What's wrong with Isreal anyway? I think it's healthy for the sport when smaler countries make a stand & start to get better results.

We'll see after wednesday what kind of team Italy has. I'm not 100% sold on Donadoni. If they can beat Scotland on Wednesday I'll be happy because Scotland have improved drastically and won't lie down for Italy. As far as Serie A goes, this has been a rough year, but just wait until Juve gets back. I think you will see a player exodus from other leagues going back to Italy. I like Italys chances a lot better than Englands right now. Just my opinion don't get all worked up now.

giova that's the most fair comments you have ever posted here. I look for Italy to win the encounter with Scotland though I agree Scotland has improved in leaps & bounds but still they are playing Italy & Italy is just that ...Italy. Italy reminds me of a BMW sports' motercycle. They always start off slow in cups but gain speed & power as they move along. As for Scotland. The last time they had a decent side was before I was born & I'm 16 so that was quite a long time ago. England has the wrong manager, who in turn plays' the wrong players' like Lampard who just jams up Gerrard in the middle & muffs' gifted chances that are given to him. Lampard should join the other overated loser Beckham in America as it's a fitting place for both of them.

Yeah player wise Italy's in a better position for Euro than England but both teams' are in third place in their groups & even if Italy win's they will still be behind the Scot's on points so who knows what will happen. Serie A in Italy will take some time to climb back up to be considered one of the elite leagues in the world again it's not going to happem overnight. All that stuff that went down last year really hurt soccer at the club level in Italy. Tell you this though. No matter how England does in Euro the league games there at club level, even the lower division one's sell out every week. The Premiership stands to be on top for a long time running.

Deco is a good player but the pricetag will bar such a move.
