Adu Offers Advice To Altidore
(Soccer365.com) - Real Salt Lake playmaker Freddy Adu has warned fellow teen phenom Josmer Altidore not to get caught up in his press clippings.
The U.S. Under-20 captain says the New York striker could possibly avoid some of the troubles he’s had.
"Expectations can be hard, especially since Jozy is doing so well right now," Adu told the Chicago Tribune. "He needs to learn not to get caught up in it."
"Honestly, when I first came into the league, I read every article written about me and I bought into the hype - that was the worst thing I could do for myself."
"Jozy just needs to keep working hard and listen to the closest people around him."

Jozy is a super talent, but he's not had to deal with the media spotlight Adu did, and his team is nowhere close to being as good as DC United, so his road has been much easier. Adu's advice was sound and good.
