Celtic Nix Kennedy Toronto Loan
(Soccer365.com) - Toronto FC have seen a loan stint for Celtic defender John Kennedy blocked by the Scottish leaders due to their artifical playing surface.
Hoops boss Gordon Strachan was concerned over the idea of an oft-injured 23-year old trying to regain full fitness on the fake stuff.
"We would have been giving him the opportunity to continue his recovery at a very high level," Johnston told the Scottish Daily Express. "I spoke with Gordon and John's agent and everyone was up for it until we mentioned our stadium has a plastic pitch."
"They took advice from the specialist and the word then came back that he could not be risked on that surface at this stage of his career."
