Hartman Proud To Set MLS Mark
(Soccer365.com) - Fresh from recording his all-time league best 63rd clean sheet in Wednesday’s win over Toronto FC, Kansas City netminder Kevin Hartman conceded that it was a special night for him personally.
The longtime Galaxy man, brought over by the Wizards in an offseason deal, surpassed MLS icon Tony Meola to top the career shutout list.
"Out of all the goalkeepers, whether it is Zach Thornton or Tony Meola, they are all goalies I respect," Hartman told MLSNet. "Just to be mentioned with those guys is a compliment to me."
"It speaks to consistency, longevity, and playing at a high level, so for me that has always been my goal as a professional."
