If Wenger Stays So Do I, Says Henry

(Goal.com) - Theirry Henry has pledged to stay at Arsenal, but only as long as Arsene Wenger does.

Henry's future as well as that of Wenger has been in the air in recent weeks as the Gunners reach the conclusion on their most disappointing season for a number of years.

Much of the speculation concerning their manager has centred around the recent departure of vice-chairman David Dein, who worked very closely with Wenger.

Dein's shock departure came as boardroom tensions over a foreign takeover boiled over.

However, Arsenal now have more than one reason to keep hold of Wenger as if they lose him they also look set to lose Henry, who they have missed terribly due to injury this season.

The 29-year-old told Sport magazine: "At the end of last season I signed a new contract.

"I believe in the boss and what he is trying to do here. As long as he is here then I will be here - it's just as simple as that."

Arsene Wenger’s side have now failed to win a trophy in two seasons and have been accused of letting teams off the hook by missing a succession of chances.

"I think perhaps we lose our concentration," Henry continued. "We don't do this on purpose. We have ended up losing so many points against teams we should have beaten.

"The talent is there but you need to put the ball in the back of the net, and I wasn't fresh enough, or there enough, to do that for the team this season.

"It was the same with Robin van Persie, who has been injured, and William Gallas, who was out for more than three months.

"I'm not complaining about these things, but it is a fact and it does make a difference. We have a lot of amazing youngsters at the club, but you need experience too.

"We'd be in a much better position if we had taken our chances. We do have something to build on, but we need to kill teams off. That's all that let us down this year."

Thierry is a class act, he's loyal to his coach and his team. Wenger is not the problem so why dump him; reload and challenge next year.

What is it with professional footballers becoming so full of themselves I mean come on. Beckham, Matarazzi, and Henry are just a few of many.
