Barcelona extends lead to four points

Sociedad, Spain (Sports Network) - Andres Iniesta and Samuel Eto'o scored in the second half to give Barcelona to a 2-0 win over Real Sociedad on Saturday and a four-point cushion atop the Spanish La Liga.

Iniesta scored in the 47th minute after he sidestepped Real Sociedad goalie Claudio Bravo and scored into an empty net.

Eto'o secured three points for Barcelona with a goal in the 88th minute. He broke free behind Real Sociedad's defense and made a move to get Bravo going the wrong way to smoothly slot the ball around the goalie.

Ronaldhinho set up both goals for Barcelona. The assist on the Eto'o goal was a brilliant 40-yard pass. It was the 10th goal of the year for Eto'o.

Although Barcelona extended its lead to four points, second-place Sevilla and third-place Real Madrid play Sunday with a chance to keep the pressure on the defending league champs.

In other action in Spain on Saturday, David Silva scored in the 74th minute to help Valencia escape with a 2-1 win over Deportivo and remain six points behind Barcelona. Miguel Hugo Viana scored Valencia's other goal. Sebastian Taborda scored for Deportivo.

Barcelona is overated. A mere shell of their former self. They were outclassed in the Champions League this year. To win La Liga is nothing as it's just domestic. They are no longer the master's of Europe.

Yes Barcelona the so called best team in the world were beat today soundly by a team that was given little chance to be able to stay in the game with them. I take it it's safe to say Barcelona is not the best team in the world. At least not on this day :)
