Davies Drought No Boss’ Concern
(Soccer365.com) - Despite Swedish press efforts to make note and make light of a Charlie Davies goal slump, Hammarby IF manager Tony Gustavsson insists that the player will prove his early detractors wrong.
The young American Abroad failed to open his Allsvenskan account on several second half chances for a winner at Malmo on Tuesday.
One pundit declared it ‘a textbook display of how to miss chances’, which led Gustavsson to respond by questioning the overly simplistic viewpoint.
"It'll take time for him to adapt," he asserted. "It would be nice for him to score, but he shouldn't have to feel any pressure."
Davies, who had promised to score against Malmo in the press, has two assists in four games for the Swedish leaders.
