De Rosario named MLS Player of the Week
Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Houston midfielder Dwayne De Rosario was named Major League Soccer's Player of the Week after scoring his first two goals of the season in a 3-1 win over Colorado on Saturday.
De Rosario, who scored 11 goals last year, had both goals in a five-minute stretch to help defending MLS champion Houston move into a tie with Colorado and FC Dallas atop the Western Conference standings.
It was De Rosario's first Player of the Week award this season and the fourth of his career.
De Rosario joins Real Salt Lake's Jeff Cunningham (week one), Kansas City's Eddie Johnson (week two), CD Chivas USA's Maykel Galindo (week three) and Los Angeles' Landon Donovan (week five) as winners of the award this season.
