McBride Nets Season Award Double

(Soccer365.com) - Fulham striker Brian McBride has been selected by fans as the team’s Player of the Season for the second consecutive year.

The former U.S. star also led the team with nine Premiership goals for the second time in as many seasons.

Fellow American Abroad Carlos Bocanegra finished third, with keeper Antti Niemi second.

“I’m honored that the fans saw fit to give me the award,” McBride told the club website. “I finished top scorer, but none of those goals would have been possible without the help of the guys around me.”

“We had a tough season, but the spirit of the team came through and saw us to safety.”
