Ronaldinho Begs Out Of Copa
(Soccer365.com) - Brazil star Ronaldinho has requested that he be allowed to skip the 2007 Copa America in Venezuela in order to recharge his low batteries.
The federation has acknowledged receiving a letter from the Barcelona wizard.
"It is well known to you that during the last few years I have been subjected to intense and uninterrupted physical activity," wrote Ronaldinho.
"I have been unable to take the recommended and necessary periods of rest which may, on occasion, have an influence on the high level of performance demanded by my professional commitments with my club and, principally, the Brazilian national team," he explained.
"I'm grateful for the respect and the attention which the (CBF) has always shown towards me and, thanks to the excellent and open relationship that we share, I ask for your understanding in my request."

Newsflash - the guy is human and needs a rest, he's been playing nonstop. He needs time for him, his son and other family members to reconnect. He's been the ambassador for soccer for the last 2 years, let someone else take the spotlight for awhile.
