United Practices Heating Up
(Soccer365.com) - With the club sitting on only four points after five games, D.C. United assistant coach Chad Ashton reports that training sessions have become a battle royale for playing time.
The four-time champs finally picked up a win last week, with unproven youngsters like Kasali Yinka Casal and Guy-Roland Kpene playing key roles.
“We have some of our starters looking over their shoulders in terms of competitiveness, getting on the field,” he told the Washington Examiner.
“That’s a good thing for us when you have that competition,” concluded Ashton. “Obviously, we’ve put some guys on their toes.”
