Veron In Panathinaikos Talks
(Soccer365.com) - The father of Estudiantes midfield ace Juan Sebastian Veron has revealed that his son is in line to follow his footsteps in suiting up for Greek giants Panathinaikos.
"I am in contact with the people of Panathinaikos about Juan Sebastian," Juan Ramon Veron told Prasini. "I speak with them by phone and I can say that the negotiations are in progress. "
"Me and my son, we will chew over their offer – (he) is a free agent right after the end of the Clausura in June."
Papa Veron claims the former Lazio and Manchester United man is missing Champions League action back home in Argentina.
"I can say that Juan Sebastian would love to play football in a Panathinaikos shirt," he added. "I have spoken with him many times about Greece and he told me that, if some day he is going to play football there, it would only be for Panathinaikos."
"I know that he wants to come back to Europe to play in the European competitions."
