Juve Will Compete For Scudetto - Sacchi

(Goal.com) - According to Arrigo Sacchi, Juve will be favoured in the Scudetto race by the fact they won't play in European competitions.

After a year in Serie B, Juventus are back with a vengeance, and according to Arrigo Sacchi they have what it takes to compete for the Scudetto.

According to the ex Milan, Parma and Azzurri coach, the Bianconeri will be competitive in Serie A immediately, despite the fact that they are coming from Serie B and that on paper both Milan teams look superior.

"Juve will fight for the Scudetto even though they come from Serie B," Sacchi said.

"Without European competitions, they will have an advantage over their competitors, and be fresh and more focused.

"Ranieri will be able to organise the team's trainings well during the week, and at the end of the season this will make itself felt, allowing Juventus to earn precious points while other teams may still be involved on two fronts."

The club's management have managed to sign some experienced players like Hasan Salihamidzic (from Bayern), Zdenek Grygera (from Ajax), Tiago (from Lyon), Sergio Almiron (from Empoli), and Vincenzo Iaquinta (from Udinese), as well as convincing the world's number one goalkeeper, Gigi Buffon, to stay on in spite of his doubts.

With more signings on the way, the quality is set to improve further, and should the likes of Milan and Inter start slow, they will have a real fight on their hands!
