Sánchez Appeals To Ex-Pat Fans
(Soccer365.com) - Mexico boss Hugo Sánchez has asserted to supporters scattered across the globe that he intends to bring home the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup title.
El Tri, who will be searching for their eighth continental crown, begin play against Cuba on Friday.
The team has scores of fans in the host United States alone, though many expatriates may not get as good of coverage as their loved ones back home.
"As part of this new era, we want to make history," Sánchez told the Houston Chronicle. "I think we're motivated by the fact that we see people believe in us."
"We want to get positive results not only for the Mexicans here (in Mexico), but for those who watch us elsewhere."
