Saviola A Real Good Signing - Messi

(Goal.com) - Leo Messi has admitted that he would find it hard to watch Javier Saviola don the all white of Real Madrid next season if he chooses to move to the Bernabéu, but admits that it could be the right move.

Saviola has decided to leave Barça this summer after being offered a contract with heavily reduced wages and Messi is split over where his compatriot goes next.

The duo are currently on international duty together at the Copa América in Venezuela, but the rumours that Madrid are ready to move have not stopped.

"It would be difficult to see him playing in the Real Madrid kit when not long ago he was playing alongside me," Messi stated.

"He is my friend and I want things to go well for him and if it has to be in Madrid, well, I would have preferred him to stay here."

Despite that, Messi recognised that Saviola could not be blamed if he chose to ply his trade with los Merengues after having so little chance to prove himself at Camp Nou last term.

"He has not had many opportunities and it is normal that he is looking for what is best for him in his career," the 19-year-old continued.

"Nobody can deny that Real Madrid is a big club and it would be a great chance for him.

"I think that if, in the end, he goes there, then it will be a good signing for Madrid."
