U.S. MNT Returns To Copa Field

(Soccer365.com) - The United States men’s national team will open their 2007 Copa American campaign against Argentina on Thursday night in Venezuela. It will mark the U.S. third appearance in the South American regional championship, having playing in 1993 and 1995 as well.

The U.S. has played Argentina seven times in their history, holding a lifetime record of 2-5-0 against the South American juggernaut and will be facing a difficult task if they are to improve their record.

With the focus on winning the Gold Cup, Bob Bradley expected to take an inexperienced crew to the tournament. There are 16 players on the roster who have 10 caps or less. Fourteen players are under the age of 25, with Eddie Gaven representing the team’s youngest at 20 years old.

There are three members of the group who are entering their first-ever camp with the MNT and will be in search of their first cap: Colorado Rapids forward Hercules Gomez, FC Dallas midfielder Drew Moor and Toronto FC defender Marvell Wynne

Despite the youth on the field, the Red, White and Blue has veteran Kasey Keller between the sticks. The Borussia Moenchengladbach player earned his 100th cap in his last outing and is the only player to appear in a Copa America.

The match will be broadcast live at 8:30 p.m. ET on GolTV and Telefutura. Fans can also follow all the action live on ussoccer.com's MatchTracker.

Oh Yes!!! Argentina rolled over the weak US team which of course was to be expected!!! Again the weak American side who are all bark & no bite are as usual spanked!!! Good game Argentina & US thanks for the laughs !!!

Had by some freak accident happened & the US had actually won this match the site couldn't have posted the story fast enough but I guess the site along with all the pro US posters here are licking their wounds. The US was just not good enough to give Argentina a good game. It's one thing for the US to beat all these tiny dirt poor countries in their region but it's quite another thing to take on a global soccer giant like Argentina & get the same results. It's like trying to compare a Ford Mustang to a state of the art Italian sports car you can't compare them. The US will make all kinds of excuses like they fielded a young team with little experience which to me is bull! Whoever they fielded matters not as they are professionals. They just happen to be professionals at a much lower level than the level of professionals Argentina has. Not bad US. You played alright but as it's a bitter pill to swallow you just can't & never will be the best at everything.

yea ur right us actualluy thought they were gonna win wen they scored there PK y do u guys even rest ur players u guys arent good enough to do that wat r u thinkin o well argentinas better but mexicos evn better VIVA MEXICO!
