Altidore Working To Face Austria
(Soccer365.com) - U.S. Under-20 ace Josmer Altidore is hopeful he can beat a calf problem to take part in this weekend’s FIFA Under-20 World Cup quarterfinal match-up with Austria.
The Red Bulls phenom took a knee to the sore spot in a challenge with Uruguay’s Martin Caceres and had to be removed from the round of 16 win.
"I don't know at this point, but I'm going to try to get ready for Saturday," Altidore told Big Apple Soccer. "I had a calf injury before this and he hit me right there."
"I thought maybe if I would move around a little bit, it would go away," he recalled. "My first step, it was killing me."
