Fire Eager To Field Wanchope
(Soccer365.com) With a 3-0 win in pocket from Sunday’s visit to Toronto FC that featured Cuauhtémoc Blanco, Chicago general manager John Guppy says he is excited to now add another new signing to the offense against Columbus next week: Costa Rica ace Paulo Wanchope.
The Fire exec believes a motivated Wanchope will bring his best to Toyota Park.
"Even back to when (former coach Dave Sarachan) was still here, we have talked about acquiring another forward for a long time," Guppy told the Daily Southtown.
"I think (Wanchope) looks at this as an exciting and unique challenge in a league that has a very intense spotlight on it right now."
