Davies Banking On Feilhaber
(Soccer365.com) Derby manager Billy Davies is banking on £1million midfielder signing Benny Feilhaber gaining international clearance to face Tottenham at White Hart Lane this weekend.
Feilhaber joined the Rams on a three-year contract from Hamburg on Wednesday but was ineligible for the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City at Eastlands, the 22-year-old restricted to a warm-up session with his new team-mates.
Davies is nonetheless confident the America international will be allowed to make his debut against Spurs.
The Pride Park chief said: "We need the international clearance before 5pm tomorrow, but I am optimistic we will receive the paperwork in time.
"Benny is a player we have been tracking for something like a year, and I think we got him out of Hamburg just in time - because after another six months the really big clubs would have been interested.
"He can play anywhere in midfield - left, right or in the middle - and he has a goal in him.
"One thing he certainly does not lack is confidence - he is American."

Congrats to Benny. I think he'll get a chance to play at Derby and I hope he does well.
