Van Der Vaart On Real Radar
(Soccer365.com) Holland international Rafael van der Vaart's days in the German Bundesliga look to be numbered after he was named as an alternative to Kaka and Michael Ballack for the playmaker role at Real Madrid.
New Real coach Bernd Schuster has made it clear that Van der Vaart is also being eyed as a possible solution to the Spanish club's problem position.
"If we want him (Van der Vaart), then it (a deal) will happen," Schuster told the Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper.
Van der Vaart has also fuelled the speculation by revealing he would be interested in a move to Primera Liga, telling Germany's Bild newspaper: "Real Madrid is a dream and such compliments are great."
The Dutchman has resurrected his career with Hamburg after moving there from Ajax and developed into the club's finest asset, but they may struggle to hold onto him for much longer as the Spanish giants finally look poised to strike due to their failings with other targets.
AC Milan talisman Kaka and Chelsea's Ballack, look likely to remain with their current clubs. That could see Real switch their attention to the Dutchman.
Although Van der Vaart has a contract with the Bundesliga side until 2010, there is a clause in the deal which would allow him to leave in 2009 for 1.5 million euros (£1million).
And since the 24-year-old has no intention of extending his deal under new terms, Hamburg would effectively be forced to sell him by next summer at the latest or risk losing him on the cheap one year later.

Who isn't Real looking at?
They needed to get someone like Pato someone who they could develop into a great player. But all Madrid wants to do is buy a world-class player instead of developing a youngster.
They need to look at the lower clubs too because Milan, Man U, Chelsea, and any other top club isn't going to let there prized asset slip away.
Madrid should be looking at Porto's Quaresma. He is a great talent and he is available cheaper because he plays for Porto instead of one of the top teams. I like the idea of Van der Vaart too. He is a good buy. If that doesn't happen though Diego from Werder is a great player also to keep an eye out for.

Is Diego from Werder Bremen Kaka's brother?Because my friend told me that and I didn't know if it was true or not.
